How I Rated The Best Fans for Sleeping
The Fan Needs to be Quiet, NOT Silent
A good fan for sleeping will help drown out other sounds in your home. They are also quiet enough to fall asleep easily. A loud fan can keep you awake by having something to focus on.
Fan Features AND High Ratings on Amazon.com
Fans to use while you sleep need to come with some basic features. They do not need to be overly complicated, but makes the fan easier to use. Features like a timer, remote control and good ratings are my deciding factors.
High social ratings on Amazon gives you real input from real users. I usually skip through the ratings and read the three and two star ratings. These ratings are more accurate since they tend to have more thought behind it.

1. Technical Pro FXA16
This fan is compatible with Google Home, Smart Home and Amazon Alexa. The Technical Pro FXA16 also has all of the features I need in a fan for my bedroom.
These Features Include:
- Timer
- Remotely Controlled
- Variable Speeds
- WiFi Enabled (For Smart Home, Alexa and Google)
I like this fan. It is easy to use and easy to set up (very important to me.)
The fan is pretty lightweight for oscillating fans at around 12 pounds. The front cover and blade are removable with little effort. This makes it easier to clean off the dust from the blade and the cover that will accumulate with long term use.
Setup was a breeze with the mobile app. I got a little confused at first with connecting to Wi-Fi, but once I got that connected, it just worked. I love it when something just WORKS.
When you turn it on, you will need to disconnect from your Wi-Fi at home and connect to the Wi-Fi that is having. From there, you select your home Wi-Fi and input your password. Once connected, that’s it!
I assume it is safe to say that they work the same on Apple and Android devices.
Since I use Android, I was able to open the Google Home App and set up an event for it. Now, I can open my voice assistant and just say, “Turn the Fan On” and it turns on.
I am lazy, so I just say, “Hey Google, turn my fan on.” Seems to work while yawning as well!
Overall Thoughts and Opinions
Since I am a proud owner of this fan, I can say that I FREAKING love it.
With that said, I think I will have it for a good long while. It hasn’t given me any issues yet and time may prove me wrong. If anything develops, I will update this post.
The voice assistant function is pretty neat, since I am used to a small remote. No, I don’t have to find it in the dark since my phone is charging a few feet from my face. Now I don’t have to leave the comfort of my bamboo sheets to turn it off for any reason. (My wife is usually the reason, since I like it to damn near blow the sheets off my feet.)

2. Honeywell Quiet Set Whole Room Tower Fan
The Honeywell Quiet Tower Fan is a tower fan that does not leave blades exposed. This fan is tall and slim for limited floor space while including a timer and remote control for easy use.
These Features Include:
- Remote Control
- Timer
- Variable Speeds
- Light Dimming
This Honeywell QuietSet fan is a tower unit, designed to minimize floor space. This one is easy to put into a corner and turn it on with the remote when needed.
I like these models due to a small footprint in your bedroom. If you do not have the room for a standard size oscillating fan, then this is your fan!
Honeywell also has a really nasty habit of being a good company and backing up your purchases with a warranty. I hate it when companies do the right thing. Makes me want to buy from them over and over. It’s terrible. (Sarcasm)
With over 5,200 ratings at 4 stars, this is a solid buy. The only complaints I can find are that it is rather loud on the high setting, but the medium seems just right to drown out other sounds.
There are five different speeds to try out on this model. They range from Sleep to Power Cool. Reviews state the “Sleep” settings is super quiet in your room. I cannot stand quiet fans. On the other settings, it can drown out other sounds, which is perfect for me.
A surprising amount of air gets moved with this fan on the higher settings.
The control panel is visible from the front, however the lights can be set to dim after 15 seconds.
Overall Thoughts and Opinions
In my older house, then would have been the fan of my choice. My old home had a much smaller bedroom!
As far as the best fan for sleeping goes, this is a solid purchase. I like that it is name brand and name brands have warranties. With the amount of solid reviews, I will bet it is a quality product.
Setup looks easy with only a few small screws to assemble the unit.
I was concerned about the lighting from the buttons, since they are faced towards you. With the dimming feature, it should all but shut off these lights. I don’t need to have some LED’s flashing on the other side of my eyelids when I am sleeping. My wireless charger does that for me.

3. AmazonBasics Digital Oscillating 3 Speed Tower Fan with Remote
If you want a tower fan and want to save a little cash, then go for the AmazonBasics Digital Oscillating 3 Speed Tower Fan with Remote.
Features:
- Remote Control
- 3 Speeds
- Timer Control
This AmazonBasics Tower fan has the same type controls as the Honeywell above. You get a remote control to use from a distance. This particular tower fan also has a timer, like the other models.
If you have limited space in your bedroom, and also a limited budget, check out this tower fan. Amaz on does take care of its customers as well as most of the other big brands on the market.
The reviews on this fan also give me a really good vibe on this fan. It is easy to install, and more importantly, easy to use. I don’t want to feel like I need an engineering degree to work something.
Since this is a tower fan, it is not limited to your bedroom. Take it in your office, or your bathroom! It takes up very little floor space and has an easy-to-use control panel.
It does seem that is is pretty loud on the higher settings, so if that is what you are looking for, then this is a loud fan for sleeping.

4. Lasko 2535 52″ Space-Saving Pedestal Tower Fan with Remote Control
A space saving Lasko towerfan that everyone has room for. This fan has all the features of a great fan for the bedroom, and has a ton of features with it.
Features:
- Remote Control
- 3 Energy Efficient Speeds
- Built-In Timer
Lasko’s Pedestal fan has 1,244 reviews at the time of this post. Finding a pedestal fan for your bedroom with ratings that high is very hard to find!
This device has three different speeds that make it simple to choose your speed. As far as the best fans for sleeping goes, this fan is great for confined spaces.
My required features for a fan to sleep with are simple. I need a remote, timer, light dull noise and variable speeds. The medium settings on this fan fits everything I need to make a purchase.
If you have a very small space, or don’t want to give up any more space, for a bedroom fan, this is your answer.
Overall Thoughts and Opinions
Looking through the reviews, I find people with tons of positivity behind this fan. Everyone likes that the buttons are on the top of the device, making them invisible while you are lying in bed.
You really do not want bright lights emitting from your bedroom fan. I do not like sleeping in complete darkness, but too much is too much. You know?
A found another review talking about how they bought it seven years ago, and it is still going! That is great to hear, because I do not like having to buy something over and over again.
It looks really easy to clean and maintain. That is a huge plus for me as well. For anyone that has a fan in the bedroom, you know how gross it can get. It still blows my mind why they haven’t created some type of anti-static material to repel dust. That would be great.

5. PELONIS DC Motor Ultra Quiet Pedestal Sleeping &Baby, High Energy Efficiency Standing Fan
This fan's title is a mouthful! This Pelonis fan has all of the features I love in a fan, with a lot of GREAT reviews!
- Remote Control
- Built-In Timer
- Varialbe Speed
I haven’t heard of Pelonis before, but they have a lot of happy customers!
It has a sleek front control system that doesn’t have big bright led’s that can light up a room.I really enjoy that! Some fans deal with that by having a dimming control set up, but this fan doesn’t need that.
This fan also has a big, heavy and sturdy base to connect to. Having a heavy base helps to increase the stability of the fan. It also states to have an adjustable height between 3.5 and 4 feet. If you have a tall bed, like a poster bed, then you can get this fan a little higher than most.
Also featured is a built-in overheating protection circuit. These would turn the fan off in case it is overheating. This is one of those features that you really didn’t know you needed!
The front grill is removable for easy cleaning. I like easy and I hate a gross fan. If you cannot take it apart easily to clean the dust off of it, I don’t want it.
Overall Thoughts and Opinions
For an unknown brand, I am shocked to see so many positive reviews!
Looks like a lot of people are saying this fan is really quiet. I hope they are not claiming it is silent. That’s impossible to be completely silent.
Setup is super easy and the fan is extremely easy to use. If you have read this far, then you know I love easy.
One thing I noticed is the electric oscillation. I am used to the kind that you pull up the little plug in the back. This seems to be really nice to be able to change it from one spot, to oscillation from the remote. Staying in bed and doing all of that is a huge plus.
I am looking to replace one of the kids fans and this is the one I am getting. Check out the fan HERE or grab one yourself!
